Pemberton Whitewater Week
Five days of whitewater paddling, coaching, and exploring the Pemberton Valley, with tailored instruction for everyone from complete beginners to confident Class 3 paddlers.
Basing ourselves in the quaint organic farming area of the Pemberton Meadows, we’ll spend five full days paddling some of the best rivers the Sea to Sky has to offer. Students can pitch their own tent or stay in boutique little cabins at the Green Water Resort, our home base for the week. With an outdoor covered kitchen, comfortable communal spaces, bathroom facilities, and a private pond to practice skills, it’s the perfect place to settle in, unwind, and connect with fellow paddlers. With the Lillooet River literally steps away and plenty of other rivers within a twenty-minute drive, we have an incredible variety of whitewater right on our doorstep.
Whether you’re stepping into a kayak for the first time or looking to build confidence on Class 3, this week is all about progression at your own pace. Across five full days on the water, you’ll receive guided instruction tailored to your experience and goals. Each day, we’ll split into smaller groups based on ability, heading to different rivers and sections to find the right mix of challenge, learning, and fun. From first eddy turns and ferrying to refining technique on more challenging whitewater, there’s room to develop your skills while learning alongside a crew of like-minded paddlers.

The five days will combine plenty of river time with targeted skill sessions, including opportunities to practise rolling, improve boat control, learn basic swiftwater rescue, and get to grips with boat outfitting and gear choices. We’ll also make use of our private pond and dry-land sessions when they’re useful for building skills and confidence. The exact plan will adapt to the group, river conditions, and what each paddler needs to work on.
While we head out in different groups during the day, mornings and evenings are shared at basecamp. We’ll enjoy meals together, swap stories from the river, and make the most of those long Pemberton evenings. And there’s more to the valley than whitewater. We’ll have opportunities to explore the local farming community, sample some of the region’s food and drink, and soak up the relaxed mountain-town atmosphere that makes Pemberton such a special place to spend a week. After each day of paddling, unwind with delicious food, gorgeous sunsets, and good company back at the resort.
Expect five full days of paddling, coaching, and progression, plus a welcoming basecamp where paddlers of different experience levels come together to share the experience. Whether you’re just getting started or ready to take your Class 3 skills to the next level, Pemberton Whitewater Week is a chance to become a more confident, capable, and independent kayaker while experiencing the best of the valley on and off the river.
